About PRISM

John Jay College’s Program for Research Initiatives in Science & Math (PRISM) supports science and math students by preparing them for success in college and beyond through academic and pre-professional guidance.

As part of our award-winning Undergraduate Research Program (URP), they conduct mentored research in five broad disciplines—forensic science, biomedical sciences, toxicology, organic chemistry, and computer science. Together with their Faculty Mentors, our Undergraduate Researchers are pushing the boundaries of science. Our Undergraduate Research Chronicle showcases our incredible students and the innovative research projects on which they work.

PRISM has been recognized nationally as a model of excellence for increasing the number of underrepresented students in the STEM pipeline by The National Science Foundation(a), the American Association for the Advancement of Science(b), the National Academy of Science(c), Excelencia in Education(d,e), and CUNY(f).
